USG Council for the Americas

We had a very successful series of Canadian Studies panels at this year's Council for the America 's meetings February 10-11, 2006, in Savannah Georgia. There were two panels and seven speakers, covering a variety of Canadian Studies topics which included

  • The Other Way West: Early Exploration of Western Canada by Doug R. Oetter, Georgia College and State University
  • Information Technology: Canada vs. United States by Gerald W. Adkins, Professor of Information Technology & Marketing, Georgia College & State University
  • The Bonus, the Buck and the Boodle: Industrial Subsidy Patterns in 19 th Century Ontario by Heather Nicol, Director, USG Center for Canadian Studies, University of West Georgia
  • Planning at the Edge: The Evolution of Ontario 's Planning Legislation since 1970 by Rupert Dobbin, Department of Political Science, University of West Georgia
